There are no know, long-term side effects with the P-Shot®.
The P-Shot does not hurt. A very strong topical numbing cream is used first and a penile anesthetic block is performed, resulting in a painless procedure.
Best results occur in men that regularly use a penis pump afterwards on a regular basis to improve blood flow and encourage improved regeneration of blood vessels and nerves after the procedure. Results will vary based on the underlying pathology, tissue integrity and and natural aging process of the patient, but in general most men can expect results to last between 1-3 years. Some men enjoy more frequent injections to enhance the effects of the treatment.
Shock Wave Therapy is also often added as an adjunct treatment to the P-Shot® and can further improve results.

P SHOT®️ VS. VIAGRA? BIGGER PENIS OR PERMANENT BLINDNESS? WHICH SIDE EFFECT PROFILE TO YOU PREFER?
Since I became aware that men had penises and girls had vaginas, I have known that just having a penis, does not make a man feel like a man.
Men want their penises to not only work, but work better than their friend’s and be bigger as well. These facts transcend sexuality, gender identity and station in life.
In the late ’90’s, around the time I was finishing medical school, there was a commercial on T.V. of Bob Dole talking about his erectile dysfunction and how this new drug Viagra, is the answer. He spoke about how big of a problem ED is for millions of men (current data: 30 million men in the U.S. and 150 million worldwide). I remember thinking, how very bold of this important, politically powerful man to have the balls (no pun intended) to admit to the world, he is impotent!
From then on, when I heard the name Bob Dole, I thought of a flaccid penis……. (not exactly the quality that suggests strength and power in a national political leader, but that’s a discussion for another day)………I also knew what Viagra was. Since then, Viagra, and now Cialis, Levitra and Stendra have become some of the most prescribed medications on the market. They belong to a class of medications called PDE5I’s. They are very good at temporarily treating the symptoms erectile dysfunction, however there are both financial and health related costs to taking a “little blue pill”.
On average, the cost per day for a Viagra prescription is about $6/day or $2,190/year (and remember, this medication does not treat the underlying cause of erectile dysfunction, it only produces an erection temporarily). Lets assume a man with erectile dysfunction plans to have an erection requiring event 1/3 of the month (a conservative estimate) until he is 80yrs old and he started needing Viagra to accomplish this at 45 years old. His lifetime cost for the “little blue pill”would be $76,650! Even if we cut in half, its still a staggering number!
Not only are there financial costs related to PDE5I’s, but there are serious risks associated with taking this class of medications. Previously known risks include things like heart attacks, strokes, sudden death and seizures………not very sexy in my opinion. We have always known of visual changes associated with use of these meds, but recently, a large study was published in JAMA, showing a significant risk of permanent blindness associated with use of PDE5I’s. This study looked at over 213,033men that were regularly taking either Viagra, Cialis, Levitra or Stendra and found 1,146 cases of severe visual impairment causing permanent blindness!
A Large, Double-Blind, Randomized Placebo Controlled Trial made the cover of the Journal of Sexual Medicine last year and concluded that PRP injected into the penis, as in the Priapus Shot®️, significantly improves erectile function. This was the first large double-blind, placebo controlled trial examining the safety and efficacy of using PRP in the penis for Erectile Dysfunction, analogous to our Priapus Shot®️ technique! So, not only was this the gold standard study type for clinical research confirming the EFFICACY we have been seeing for years, but it also demonstrated the unparalleled SAFETY of our P Shot®️ Procedure!
A recent study out of San Francisco which has not been published yet, concluded that the P Shot® does in fact result in a measurable difference in penile size and girth. The increase is proportional to what you are starting with, so a 2 inch erection cannot become 4 inches, but a 5 or 6 inch erection can see a 0.5-1 inch increase in length.
There are currently, at last count, 4 large multi-center, RCT trials ongoing throughout the globe looking to repeat these findings. This is what happens when a treatment modality starts to become standard of care amongst most practitioners. The Priapus Shot®️, will soon solidify its proper place in the treatment arsenal for erectile dysfunction amongst providers around the world, who care for men.
Another of one of the most desirable qualities of injecting PRP in any part of the body, is that if using an FDA approved device for preparation, any severe, long term adverse event that occurs would be a reportable event! As there are NO known adverse events associated with PRP injected anywhere in the body! So, if one or twenty RCT’s, any properly trained provider, using an FDA approved preparation device, should feel confident they will not harm their patient. You can’t say that about antibiotics, Tylenol or even x-rays!
CONCLUSION…….YOU COULD SPEND $76,000 AND RISK PERMANENT BLINDNESS TO HAVE AN ERECTION, WHILE NOT TREATING YOUR UNDERLYING CAUSE OF ERECTILE DYSFUNCTION……… OR……… YOU COULD GET A P SHOT®, SPEND A VERY SMALL FRACTION OF THAT COST, TAKE LITERALLY NO RISK OF LONG TERM ADVERSE EVENTS AND IMPROVE YOUR ERECTILE FUNCTION WHILE AT THE SAME TIME IMPROVING THE OVERALL HEALTH OF THE PENIS AND ERECTILE TISSUE AND MAYBE GET A BIGGER PENIS IN THE PROCESS.
